Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
It’s a great time of the year for sports.
Today, the Toronto Blue Jays are playing a post season game in Major League Baseball for the first time in 22 years, finally a part of the playoffs more than 2 decades after winning the World Series in 1993.
The National Hockey League opened last night with 4 games including the Leafs losing 3-1 to the Montreal Canadiens.
We had CFL action earlier in the week; NFL action tonight with Indianapolis at Houston.
Still with football, tomorrow is a very significant day in Owen Sound.
The Earth Power-Kubota location at Springmount Corners won a promotional event and as a result have the Grey Cup for the day.
From 1-3 pm tomorrow, they’ll showcase the Cup at their location and then take it up to OSCVI for the annual Friday Night Lights game between the Falcons and the West Hill Raiders.
Both the Falcons and Raiders are 2 & 0, so obviously, this is a pivotal game in the regular season- in fact, I can’t remember the last time both schools opened 2 & 0 heading to the Friday Night Lights Game.
And one quick reminder; either at Earth Power tomorrow afternoon, or at the OSCVI Field tomorrow night, please bring a non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army’s Food Drive.
It truly is a great time of the year.
I’m Fred Wallace
