Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
There are 10 races remaining at Hanover Raceway. Not 10 race dates, but rather just 10 races, set for this Saturday night as the 2015 season quickly comes to a completion.
The race season at Hanover, in my eyes, has been another successful one.
You cannot discount the weather, which excepting one night in late June was terrific, for the level of attendance achieved this year.
But the weather was supplemented by the usual big events and some surprising turns.
One of those turns was last Saturday night when perpetual winner Bruce Richardson was blanked in all 10 starts, failing to score a victory, which for the talented Richardson is quite rare.
That shutout allowed Jay Bradley Harris to bypass Richardson in the driver’s standings.
Harris won 3 times last Saturday to give him 30 victories on the year, 2 more than Richardson.
So, with just 10 races remaining, Richardson needs to score 3 more victories than Harris on the final night to claim the Driver of the Year title.
Ten races on the card Saturday at Hanover Raceway, 1 great race between two top drivers as a subplot.
I’m Fred Wallace
