A cottage-style home in Wasaga Beach has been gutted by fire, but there were no injuries in the blaze.
The woman who lived at the house on Eastdale near Cedarlane in the east end of Wasaga was not home when the fire got started and she had all three of her dogs with her
Wasaga Beach fire chief Mike McWilliam says the house is gutted, with damage at about $100,000.
Crews were called to the home at about 6 AM on Thursday.
Arrangements are being made for the woman and her dogs to be sheltered temporarily by the Red Cross.
McWilliam says it appears the fire is not suspicious, but seems to have been set accidentally.
Damage is minor in another fire at an apple processing plant in the hamlet of Glen Huron.
Clearview’s fire crews were called at about 6 AM on Thursday.
The fire was spotted by a truck driver reporting for work.
The fire was in a compressor in a hallway near the packing line at Giffen’s apples.
All the workers in the plant were evacuated, and the fire was put out quickly with no injuries.
