A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 51 year old Owen Sound man after he failed appear in court on several charges including one of fraud over $5,000 and one of theft over $5,000.
Michael Moore is also facing three charges of fraud under $5,000 and three counts of unauthorized use of credit cards.
Owen Sound Police Inspector Vince Wurfel says the counts of unauthorized use of credit cards, involved charges against customers of Thrifty Rental or U-Haul in Owen Sound that had not been approved by the card-holder.
The charge of theft over and fraud over $5,000 is in connection with the alleged sale of a vehicle that a leasing company actually had title to.
On August 6th, Moore failed to appear in Owen Sound court to answer to the charges and the bench warrant was then issued for his arrest.
Moore is no longer the owner of Thrifty.
The business has been purchased by the Baywest Group and is operating out of Baywest Mitsubishi.
