Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
It’s been an eventful week, hasn’t it ?
From the sports desk, we’ve seen the Blue Jays rip off a franchise record tying 11 game win streak and bypass the Yankees, for the moment, maybe for the season, for top spot in the American League East.
Yankees in Toronto this weekend, has it been any better over the last 22 years ?
The Wiarton Nationals won the ISC II Championship yesterday at South Bend, Indiana. A Blue Jays-like 5 game win streak climaxed with a 13-6 win over Kingston yesterday for the title.
Michael Jackson, the Collingwood car dealer, not the late singer, went wire to wire at the Ontario Senior Men’s Golf Championship at Kawartha Golf & Country Club.
Jackson had a 74 yesterday to claim his 3rd Ontario Senior title and now heads to Medicine Hat for the Canadian Seniors in early September.
And at the Para Pan Games, former St Mary’s Mustang Josh Cassidy won the silver in the Men’s 800 metre final last night.
Plus, Owen Sound native Jason Crone and his Canadian teammates defeated Brazil in the Wheelchair Rugby semifinal last night.
Today, Crone & Team Canada will face their fiercest rivals, the United States for the Gold Medal.
Just a quick note, the Walker Trot and the Bayshore Broadcasting Survivor Series go tomorrow night at Hanover Raceway.
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
