It’s an eventful weekend with a number of activities.
We’ve already discussed the Jeff Preston Celebrity Classic at Saugeen Golf Club which runs through today.
And we’ll mention again, the Owen Sound Lady NorthStars are hosting the Provincial Girls Field Lacrosse Championships for the Under 13 and Under 11 divisions this weekend.
The big NorthStars also have a busy weekend as the Senior Lacrosse Playoffs commence.
Owen Sound is facing the Oakville Titans and the NorthStars wanted to stage Game 1 tonight.
However, Oakville wouldn’t hear of it and managed to get the NorthStars to relent and stage the opening game tomorrow night at 7 at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
Game 2 is Sunday in Oakville
If the best of 3 goes the distance, the deciding game will be Tuesday night at 8 pm back in Owen Sound.
It’s funny; the NorthStars were 4th in the regular season, going 8-7 & 1, good for 17 points, 3 more than Oakville.
However, the Titans won both head to head meetings with Owen Sound this year.
Plus, if you add in Oakville’s minor victory in the scheduling debate, that should give the Senior NorthStars plenty of motivation for the opener tomorrow night.
