A 47 year old Chesley man will be tried in Superior Court in Walkerton on a charge of first degree murder.
Anthony Ringel was committed to trial when he appeared in a Kitchener court last month,
He will be in assignment court in Walkerton on September 8th when a trial date will be set.
Ringel has been behind bars for over two years awaiting trial in the murder of a young Hanover girl.
He was arrested by South Bruce OPP on February 28th, 2013 in connection with the disappearance of Christine Harron in 1993.
She was 15 years when she left John Diefenbaker Secondary school in May of 1993 and was never seen again.
Harron’s body has never been found.
It is the second time, that Ringel has been charged with murder in connection with Harron’s disappearance.
Back in 2004, he was charged with First Degree Murder however the charges were stayed by the Crown in 2006 after a judge ruled key evidence was inadmissible.
At that time, Ringel had been in jail for 22 months.
