Like many courses in the region, Cobble Beach Golf Links has a number of big events on the 2015 calendar.
In fact, the first major event was the Golf Association of Ontario Men’s Better Ball Qualifier last week.
The team of Zachary Secord & Thomas Brown from Midland & Penetanguishene had the low score for the day at 6 under 66.
Locally, Tim Van Dolder of Cobble & his partner, Todd Gouett from the Georgian Bay finished third which earned them the right to advance to the Ontario Better Ball Championships at Oakdale Golf & Country Club Thursday in Downsview.
Looking ahead, in 2 weeks Cobble Beach will be the site for another GAO Qualifier, this time for the Men’s Amateur.
The top players on May 25th will earn a berth in the Investors Group Ontario Men’s Amateur set for mid-July at Peterborough Golf & Country Club.
And two other quick notes from Cobble Beach; their annual Hospice Tournament is June 10th, and a new event, the Men’s Invitational is scheduled for Canada Day.
