With unemployment sitting below 4%, the Town of Minto has now launched the ‘Live and Work in Minto’ online job and housing portal.
Business and Economic Manager, Belinda Wick-Graham, says the municipality’s thriving/growing business community is unable to fill positions with local talent.
She tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the website is a “one stop location” for job seekers, with an interactive map displaying employment and housing opportunities.
According to Wick-Graham, the service provides “an equal playing field for large, small and private businesses”, as well as realtors.
‘Live and Work in Minto’ was created in consultation with local businesses.
Wick-Graham says the reality of doing business in a rural economy is that to fill job openings there must be homes and rental properties available for workers.
The website makes what used to be a time-consuming search much easier.
It’s also free to list.
