Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic…..the Logical Choice !
The Ontario Hockey League Playoffs begin tonight with games at Erie, Barrie & Ottawa.
Tomorrow night, the Owen Sound Attack open their Western Conference Quarterfinal at Guelph against the Storm.
Out of interest, I called my bookie, Nick Aragua, and got his line on the Attack-Storm series.
Nick has made Guelph the favorite, and when I asked why, Nick delivered a half dozen factors;
– Guelph has home ice
– Guelph won the season series 5-3
– Guelph has won the last 4 season series
– Guelph has the most talented player in the series; Robby Fabbri
– Guelph has the player most capable of changing momentum; Tyler Bertuzzi
– Guelph has a goalie with Memorial Cup experience. Neither Owen Sound goalie has won a game in the playoffs.
Plus, when pressed further, Nick Aragua admitted he likes listening to Storm announcer Larry Mellott a lot better than ‘ the goof on the radio from Owen Sound. ‘
So Nick Aragua is taking the Storm. I took the Attack.
Game 1 is tomorrow night in Guelph.
I’m Fred Wallace
