Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic…..the Logical Choice !
There’s a lot of items on the go this week.
At the Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary, the Brad Jacobs rink from Sault Ste Marie has been perfect over the opening 5 days and already have clinched a top 2 position in the standings.
Meanwhile, in Walkerton, this is Day 2 of the Ontario Intermediate Curling Championships for both the Ladies & the Men.
The Sarah Almas rink from Walkerton and Al Hutchinson skipping for the Paisley Curling Club are among the rinks entered.
Also in the region today, the Bluewater Girls Hockey Championship will be decided today at Flesherton
The Grey Highlands Lions who had a successful run at CWOSSA, will host the St Mary’s Ladies Mustangs for the Bluewater Girls crown.
Elsewhere, what jumped off the page this morning was Erie’s 10-5 slaughter of Barrie.
It was a ho-hum, 5 point night for Connor McDavid who remains the most coveted player for this year’s NHL Entry Draft.
The Toronto Maple Leafs might fluke off and get the # 1 selection through the lottery, but based on the events of this week with the star players ripping the media, the media blundering by airing an inappropriate twitter post, and the Leafs brass essentially going on the air, ironically, to rip the very owners of the club, this is a complex, ongoing cluster fiasco that NO kid should have to venture into.
The Leafs are at Tampa Bay tonight
I’m Fred Wallace
