Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
The eyes of local athletics will be on Colombia this weekend.
Hannah Woodhouse from the Beaver Valley region departed yesterday with Team Canada and is preparing for a huge race on Sunday.
Woodhouse who is a student at Georgian Bay Secondary School in Meaford, is competing at the North American-Central American-Caribbean Cross Country Championships
Today and tomorrow, Woodhouse & her mates will get acclimated to the conditions, especially the heat, at the race site, and then on Sunday she’s scheduled to represent Canada in the Junior Division of the international competition.
A lot closer to home, the race certainly is tight in the WOAA North Senior Hockey playoffs.
Tonight in Durham, the Thundercats host Elora at 8:30 pm.
Also at 8:30 tonight at the Plex in Port Elgin, the Winterhawks host Mapleton-Minto
Both North semifinals are tied 2-2
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
