Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
Just a backtrack to Monday & the 5th annual Josh Olynyk Memorial Sick Shot Road Hockey Tournament.
The event is conducted by the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group with all kinds of help from sponsors and volunteers and even in frigid conditions, it was an active and eventful Family Day activity.
The proceeds from the Josh Olynyk Tournament support the ” Ice Magic ” program in Minor Hockey which is valuable tool to introduce boys & girls at the youngest age group to hockey & hockey fun.
Among the interesting notes from this year’s event was the announcement that going forward the proceeds from the tournament will also be directed to fund an ongoing scholarship for a midget aged player in Minor Hockey.
It was the first time I’d ever been at the event and it was cool….and COLD !
Hockey tonight;
The Attack are at Barrie to meet the Colts for the 4th time on the season.
In Meaford at 7:30, the Knights open their Greater Metro Playoff series against South Muskoka.
And at 8 in Markdale, the Grey Highlands Bravehearts open their series with the Rama Aces.
Have a great Thursday
I’m Fred Wallace
