Exciting health care news for Hanover.
The town is getting two new family doctors as well as a surgeon.
The three new physicians come as welcomed news to Hanover and District Hospital CEO Katrina Wilson.
She says the husband and wife team Doctor Kevin and Doctor Rachel Kieffer will arrive first.
Doctor Rachel Kieffer is a general practitioner and will begin work in the Hospital in March and start her family practice in July.
Her husband — Doctor Kevin Kieffer — is the surgeon, and will begin work in June.
The third doctor coming to Hanover is a familiar face.
After completing her residency in Hanover, Doctor Diana Boughan will begin her family practice in July.
Even with the new doctors, Wilson says the town still needs more doctors — especially those that specialize in obstetrics, emergency and anaesthesiology.
Wilson notes it is always a challenge to attract physicians to rural Ontario.
She is confident however that the Hanover and District Hospital will continue to do just that — thanks to its high quality staff, services and technologies.
