Day after day after day, we all get news; sometimes good news. Sometimes not so good news.
The reaction to most of the news we receive, good or bad, is to take it in stride, deal with it & carry on.
Still, at both ends of the spectrum, we all get jolted periodically by extreme levels of information.
Such was the case last Friday in St Catharines for former Attack defender Milan Doczy.
A couple of months ago, the news was terrible; Milan was dealing with melanoma, skin cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes.
Not only was the diagnosis a shock for Doczy and those who know him, but the price tag for treatment was staggering; in excess of $ 50,000.
Backed by many, including his Owen Sound landparents, Sean & Tracy Walker, a ” Do-It-For-Doczy ” campaign popped up and was making significant progress in the fundraising process.
Friday, prior to a fundraising game between Brock & the U of T, the really stunning news came out, that is, the really stunning GREAT news was dispensed.
Somebody, somewhere, anonymously stepped forward and committed to fund the cost of Milan’s Interferon cancer treatment.
This wasn’t & isn’t your every day, run-of-the-mill piece of information.
The turn of events here, so sudden, so amazing, so unexpected, so uplifting, was an exceptional example of how really great news can jolt you & your emotions.
