Well, how was THAT for a weekend ?
Oh sure there were some ins & outs, some ups & some downs, but overall, what a great showcase weekend in Owen Sound and for Owen Sound with the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour.
I had a good feeling about the event in the middle of last week, when I spoke to Hometown Hockey host Ron MacLean.
In our session, Ron MacLean was everything you’d imagine he’d be; upbeat, friendly, expansive and totally prepared to talk about us, being Owen Sound, and our hockey heritage.
Truthfully, I found him to be more than a little revealing when he talked about the direction hockey broadcasting is leaning towards in this day & age.
A great interview that kicked off a great weekend.
Just a quick note that while on a smaller scale certainly than the National TV audience of the weekend- the town of Meaford has a major event tomorrow with the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League All Star Game.
The Knights second season in the GMJHL has been a struggle, but it’s apparent the community and the league recognize what a great market the town is for that level of hockey.
Big weekend behind us in Owen Sound, significant day in front of us tomorrow in Meaford
I’m Fred Wallace
