I had a good chat this week with curler Tyler Twining of Owen Sound.
Twining curls out of Owen Sound Blue Water, but in a twist that’s not that uncommon in Provincial Curling, he finds himself getting ready for a significant competition in which he’ll be representing Paris, Ontario.
Twining is the skip for the Paris entry at the Ontario Junior Men’s Curling Championships which will be conducted January 7th to 11th at the Galt Curling Club.
The evolution of this Paris rink was a quick mesh of 4 guys who were good curlers & got along famously.
That’s not to say there haven’t been alterations along the way, in fact, Twining now finds himself as the skip of the rink, not the position he initially started with.
Regardless, Twining approaches the Ontario Junior Men’s Championship with some confidence, knowing a little about several of the opposition rinks in the field.
However, as a first time skip in a major provincial competition with a berth in a National Championship on the line, Tyler Twining admits he’s a little nervous.
