Yesterday was one of those Mondays, so busy, but just packed with news; mostly great news.
The lone item that wasn’t exceptional was the Broomball results from the National Qualifying Tournaments where both the Kilsyth Flyers & the Young Guns missed, barely missed, earning the right to advance.
Having said that, those who know broomball were encouraged by the results, and on another level they’re very encouraged by the traction they’re getting as they prepare to host the 2015 Provincial Championships in Owen Sound.
The biggest story; Chris Bigras receives an invitation from Hockey Canada to attend the National Junior Selection Camp next week in Toronto.
Chris played for Canada last year & it wasn’t the best experience based on injury & ice time, so in his own quiet way, you can bet he’s fully motivated to upgrade the experience this year.
And the nicest story; Hannah Woodhouse of Heathcote comes home from Vancouver as the Canadian Junior Women’s Cross Country Champion.
Overwhelmed by her success, Woodhouse will take a tiny break and then will prepare to represent Canada at two major international competitions coming up in 2015.
That was a great Monday
We’ll see what the rest of the week brings.
I’m Fred Wallace
