The Owen Sound Attack snapped a 10 game head to head losing streak against the London Knights on Saturday night with a 6-2 victory at the JD McArthur Arena.
The game was intense, the crowd was into it and with the victory there was an air of achievement & satisfaction from an Owen Sound standpoint.
And while I certainly understand that emotion, I want to be fair to London….
The Knights started their backup goalie, Tyler Parsons. I didn’t think Parsons played poorly, but he’s not their starter.
The Knights coach, Dale Hunter, sat in Section Q, suspended for the actions of Michael McCarron the night before.
& McCarron, who was a major factor in 2 Knights victories over the Attack at London this year, was also banished.
Personally, seeing London win Friday to extend the run to 10 straight was bothersome- bothersome because Kingston draft pick Max Domi dominated, Belleville draft pick McCarron was too much to handle & visualizing the potential of Attack draft pick Victor Mete maybe rising to that level some day.
I hate it.
But regardless of how I view the landscape of team construction, no matter how much joy anyone feels after defeating London, the simple fact remains- the Knights are going to be tough to beat any time they play the Attack.
