Last week was eventful with a rush of CWOSSA Qualifiers and playdowns in variety of sports.
Most successful from Bluewater were the Kincardine Lady Knights in Girls Basketball & the Scared Heart Crusaders in Boys Volleyball who won the right to advance to their respective OFSAA Championships which equates to both a big opportunity & a lengthy trip.
The Lady Knights will compete at the OFSAA ” A ” Girls Basketball Championship this week in Ingleside, Ontario which borders on Cornwall.
Meanwhile, the Crusaders will be in the OFSAA ” AA ” Boys Volleyball Championship Tournament which is being hosted in……..Dryden.
That’s a lot of travel, but I’m sure for the Lady Knights & the Crusaders, it’s a journey, in every sense of the word, that won’t soon be forgotten.
There were other meaningful CWOSSA sporting events last week; the St Mary’s Mustangs lost their football playoff game at Guelph, the Lady Mustangs were eliminated at home in the semifinals of the CWOSSA ” AA ” Girls Basketball tournament plus, the Kincardine senior Nights and the Walkerton Junior Riverhawks were eliminated in the finals of the CWOSSA ” A ” Boys Volleyball tourney in Walkerton.
The Fall athletic terms climaxes with OFSAA Championships this week for a couple of Bluewater teams, and the Winter terms is already underway.
I’m Fred Wallace
