It appears one of Owen Sound’s cab companies has gone out of business.
Green Taxi’s office on 8th Street East is closed, and calls to the company are directed to a voice-mail system.
The doors to the office are locked today, and the cabs are parked.
Bayshore Broadcasting News has attempted to contact the owner, Brandon Ramsey, but our calls have not been returned.
Green Taxi made news in September, when Owen Sound’s by-law officers were looking into complaints against the cab company.
It was offering a credit voucher for a discount after eight rides.
At the time, Police Chief Bill Sornberger said offering vouchers or giving any sort of discount is illegal under the City of Owen Sound’s by-law.
Ramsey had defended the use of vouchers saying they were simply a way of rewarding return customers.
The vouchers gave riders $3.85 off their ninth ride with the company.
