It’s here.
The 2014 National Hockey League season begins tonight with 4 games.
The opener at 7 pm tonight is in the very centre of the hockey universe, the Air Canada Centre, as the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Montreal Canadiens.
And we’re off.
Montreal fans will remind Leaf fans, the Habs made the Eastern Conference Final last year….
Leaf fans will remind Hab fans that Montreal hasn’t won a Stanley Cup since 19993……
And you KNOW what Montreal fans will say to that; just ask my good friend, Darren, ( he’s 6 ) who couldn’t wait to lay a wager on the Canadiens with me.
There are 3 other games tonight, all of which hold attraction and for those regions are every bit as significant as Toronto-Montreal.
Plus, after much promotion, the NHL hockey broadcast rights in the country belong to Rogers who have promised great things ahead from their coverage.
We’ll see, starting tonight at 7 when the Leafs host the Canadiens to open the 2014-15 NHL season.
I’m Fred Wallace
