The Bowling Alley on the Sunset Strip near Owen Sound has officially opened — but you may not know it.
Owner Michelle James says she’s having a hard time getting the word out because she can’t put a sign up.
She tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that she is waiting on approvals from the MTO.
Although just on the Owen Sound city limit, the Bowling Alley is actually located on Highway 21 in Georgian Bluffs.
James says in August she requested signage permits from the MTO for a street sign and rooftop signage.
She is frustrated with waiting for the MTO – who have not given her a time frame for when the signage permits will come through.
She says the township of Georgian Bluffs waived all permits right away.
But she’s been waiting to hear back from the MTO for over a month now.
James and her partner and Husband Clark operated the Bowling Alley seven years ago.
They held the mortgage on the property and were forced to foreclose on the Westside Bowl owners back in May.
She says Westside Bowl is gone, gone, gone.
The newly named Bowling Alley will have league nights – all of which can be found on their website, at www.thebowlingalleyowensound.com.
James says league play is getting underway this week.
She wants all bowlers and newcomers to contact them about joining.
