The Ontario Curling Association schedule for the year has been released.
In Zone 11, I notice that 3 clubs; Meaford, Port Elgin & Paisley will host 11 of the 14 playdowns.
The biggest of those events will be at the Meaford Curling Club where Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the Men’s Tankard are set for December 12th to 14th
The Zone 11 Scotties will be interesting to watch after Owen Sound Blue Water competed for the Provincial title last year.
Plus the 2015 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts is right across the bay in Penetanguishene in mid-January.
Both Port Elgin & Paisley have 4 Zone 11 events while Wiarton & Chesley have the remaining playdowns.
From a Regional standpoint, Meaford has the Tim Hortons Masters and Chesley will host the Region 3 Bantam Boys & Bantam Girls competition.
Outside of Zone 11, the Kincardine Curling Club which is in Region 4 will host the Senior Women & Senior Men’s Regionals in mid-January.
Finally, from a provincial standpoint, there are no Ontario Championship events in Zone 11 this year.
But with the Scotties in Penetang, that’s not too far for local curling fans to travel
