Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
I know there’s a ton of things happening in our community for the long weekend, sportswise & otherwise, and I hope everyone supports something be it the Salmon Spectacular, auto racing, harness racing, fastball or hockey.
But I want to step out of market and certainly out of the usual range of coverage to talk about a remarkable feat that may or may not occur in an Ontario community.
Tonight in Six Nations, the Chiefs will claim the Major Series Lacrosse title IF they defeat the Peterborough Lakers in Game 6 of their series.
If the Chiefs succeed, tonight, or in Game 7 if needed, it would give Six Nations all 4 provincial lacrosse crowns.
The Rebels won the Junior B title.
The Arrows won the Junior A Championship.
The Rivermen are the 2014 Senior Champions.
The Chiefs have the opportunity to make Six Nations 4 for 4 in Ontario Lacrosse, a feat I’ve never heard of before.
Furthermore, the Rebels & Arrows won National titles winning the Founders Cup & Minto Cup respectively.
If the Rebels rally at the Presidents Cup and the Chiefs take the Mann Cup, that would be amazing.
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
