Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
And away we go.
The Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League open their training camp today and from now until, who-knows-when, it’s hockey season.
In fairness, a number of regional hockey teams have already got programs well underway.
There’s been Junior C exhibition games here & there, plus in the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League, the Knights of Meaford have made some alterations to their operation.
Brian Fish, brother of new General Manager Mike Fish, is the new coach of the Knights, replacing Nathan Parrish who departed after guiding the Knights in their maiden season.
Fish comes to Meaford & the Greater Metro Junior League from……Korea, where he’s coached pro hockey and taught high school.
Brian Fish admits he had to get up to speed very quickly with the Knights organization, but the early encounters through recruiting and community relations have been quite positive and he believes they’re capable of building on what was a positive opening season at Meaford with the Knights.
Hockey season, in Owen Sound, in Meaford, and elsewhere; here we go.
I’m Fred Wallace
