I’ve been away for a couple of days and am doing my best to catch up on a variety of levels this week.
Without the daily exercise of doing this piece while I was away, it created a backlog of stories and topics to share, so I’ll blitz through a bunch of them here today.
Among the highlights of the past two weeks was an interesting golf venture with my buddy, Doug, & his father, Doug Sr, as went to Thunder Highlands Golf Course.
Thunder Highlands is on the Georgian Bay Shoreline near………Lafontaine.
You really have to know where you going just to get to Lafontaine, so we’ll talk more about Thunder Highlands another day, but suffice it to say, for the golfer, it’s neat.
Speaking of golf, I spent last Friday evening at the 13th annual Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament at Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.
This year, the event generated $ 125,000 which will be split between the hospital foundations at Kincardine & Southampton.
125 Grand. That’s a pretty good day.
And finally, on the topic of fundraisers & hospitals; the Bruce Peninsula Health Services ” Walk to Create Possibilities ” is coming up on Saturday & the 5th annual Bayshore Race is set for Sunday.
We’re not even close to being caught up, but we’re making progress.
I’m Fred Wallace
