It’s that time of the year, the pending return to schools throughout Grey, Bruce & Simcoe.
For some, it’s exciting. For others, not so much.
I understand both viewpoints.
From my standpoint, I generally enjoy the return of school, certainly as it pertains to the Bluewater Athletic Association.
This is just a quickie reminder to the teachers, the coaches & the convenors to send me their schedules and information as soon as possible, and when the various sports seasons commence, feel free to send me as much as possible.
Why do I like Bluewater Sports ?
One, it offers a unique challenge, community to community, high school to high school in our region to see who’s the best at whatever sport is being contested.
Two, it’s an exceptional outlet for both boys & girls for fitness & recreation.
Somewhere there’s a study that links physical activity to good academics, although I can’t readily cite it.
And three, it’s amazing to think of the number of athletes who went on to bigger and better stages in their sport, yet got their start within Bluewater Athletics.
You have a few more summer days to squeeze out, but we all know it’s coming- the return to school & the return of Bluewater Athletics.
