I hope Canada Day was an active affair for everyone.
I doubt, even with yesterday being a holiday, that Canada Day could possibly be more active than this coming weekend in the NorthEast Corner of of Owen Sound.
At Duncan McLellan Park, the OASA Peewee Fastball Elimination Tournament will be staged with 19 teams, including Owen Sound, Shallow Lake & Chatsworth , all competing Friday through Sunday.
Meanwhile, Saturday & Sunday, the Kiwanis Soccer Complex will be transformed from a soccer facility into a field lacrosse venue.
A total of 50 Girls Field lacrosse teams will compete in a weekend league sanctioned event at the Complex.
From Under 11 to Senior Ladies, there’s all kinds of age & skill levels, plus the ` Learn To Play ” program under Colin Doyle will also be spotlighted during the course of the weekend.
This is the 2nd year that Owen Sound has hosted a major weekend of games, and maybe not surprisingly based on the facility and the level of organization leading up to the affair, it’s become a circled date on the Girls Lacrosse calendar.
Fastball at Duncan McLellan Park, Girls Field lacrosse at the Kiwanis Complex.
Canada Day might have nothing on the weekend ahead in Owen Sound
