It comes down to this week for the Owen Sound Garb & Gear NorthStars as it pertains to their playoff aspirations.
The NorthStars clubbed Hamilton 13-2 on Sunday afternoon in Junior B Lacrosse at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore and after an off day yesterday, they now embark on a stretch of 4 games in 6 days.
That’s a grind.
Furthermore, there’s virtually no room for anything but victories for the NorthStars who currently sit with a record of 3 & 10.
With 6 points on the season, amazingly, Owen Sound is within range of a playoff spot in the Western Conference, but ONLY if they have terrific success this week.
The week starts tonight at Guelph against the Regals in what is the opener of a home & home series between the two Midwest Division Rivals.
Following tonight’s game, the Garb & Gear squad comes home for three, hopefully, vital games; Thursday the rematch against Guelph, London on Saturday and Brampton is in on Sunday afternoon.
Do the math, and it’s easy to conclude that for the Garb & Gear NorthStars to make the Junior B playoffs for the first time in 4 years, they need to run the table, starting tonight at Guelph.
