Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
Man, have you ever seen front-running like what we witnessed over the Toronto Raptors NBA playoff series with Brooklyn ?
It was an onslaught from every angle.
Fans packed the Air Canada Centre and thousands lingered in the newly dubbed ” Jurassic Park ” in all kinds of weather to participate in the ” happening ” when the Raptors were on the big screen at what was once Maple Leaf Square.
The Toronto newspapers jammed page after page with ” coverage “.
I particularly liked the analysts who proclaimed this series could be, or was, the ” turning point ” for the Raptors as an organization.
Turning Point ?
The Raptors are almost 20 years of age.
……Turning Point ??
In fairness, they’ve accomplished very little in that time.
……Turning Point ???
And truthfully, the Raptors success this year was accomplished somewhat by accident.
This isn’t a turning point for the Raptors, it’s front-running. And if the Raptors can’t build on this enthusiasm with better results, this turning point could very well be among the few highlights for the organization.
I’m Fred Wallace
