Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
Just a very quick reminder off the top that the Owen Sound Attack have a make-up game tonight in the Ontario Hockey League.
The Attack will host the Guelph Storm in a game that was postponed on January 25h and again on the 29th.
Maybe tonight we’ll get it in, and maybe Owen Sound can do what precious few teams have done of late; beat Guelph. ( Although the Storm did lose 6-3 yesterday to Saginaw )
The Storm, who have not won a playoff series since 2008, have given every indication they’re primed for a lengthy, lengthy playoff run this year, with even their General Manager, the very conservative Mike Kelly, admitting this Storm team is reminiscent, if not better, than some of the entries he guided in the late 90’s.
For the Attack, this game marks the stretch run of the final 10 games in their regular season.
Including tonight, 3 of those final 10 games are against Guelph. Three other matches in the homestretch are against London.
And that’s tough sledding, but a challenge that is continually welcomed by the Owen Sound club as their stated goal this season is to make the playoffs, and then in progression become as good as Guelph & London in the shortest time possible.
Game time tonight is 7 pm.
I’m Fred Wallace
