It’s hockey night in our region in what is a busy, busy week for the home teams.
Last night, the Owen Sound Attack tried to start the sequence but their game against Guelph at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre was snowed out.
So now, the make-up game for the make-up game is February 24th.
If the weather cooperates, tonight the Knights of Meaford will host South Muskoka at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.
Game time is 7:30 at the Castle of Pain.
Has anyone noticed, the Knights seldom seem to win home games when I’m in the building.
Nevertheless, the Attack come right back with home games Friday & Saturday against Erie, there’s makeup games Friday & Saturday in Senior & Western Junior C play, Sahllow Lake opens their Senior playoff series with Durham on Saturday & then Knights are home again on Sunday afternoon against Powassan.
That’s busy. And hopefully, free of weather intrusions.
Speaking of hockey, at the upper echelon, did you see the survey the related the majority of Canadians equate men’s hockey gold with success at the Sochi Olympics.
A Harris/Decima poll indicated 73 per cent of those asked said winning gold in men’s hockey is important in determining Canada’s overall success at the Games.
That’s interesting.
We hold a different perspective in these parts I think. Or maybe not.
Speaking only for myself, I’d say success would be more than 14 Gold medals that were captured at Vancouver and more than 25 medals overall.
But apparently, the 1,000 Canadians in the Harris/Decima poll believe one gold medal in men’s hockey will be quite enough.
