Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
The Owen Sound Attack get back to action tonight when they travel to Oshawa to face the Generals in the opener of a 3 game weekend in the Ontario Hockey League.
Tomorrow night the Attack will be at home to Kitchener and then Sunday afternoon, they’ll host Sault Ste Marie.
This week has been a week of settling in Owen Sound after the upheaval of last week that saw two bodies depart and two newcomers arrive, touching off a tiny spout of misguided outrage amongst those who just don’t get it…and likely never will.
Here’s what I like about the Attack.
From the get-go, this year hasn’t been about winning big, but rather about reality & re-enforcing what they are about. The way they prepare, the way they play, the way they go about business on the ice & off, virtues that will serve the group well going forward.
And forward is underway, not so much from a wins & losses standpoint, and certainly not from a future perspective or a ” wait til next year ” position.
The process continues, Right Here & Right Now.
Tonight at Oshawa. Tomorrow & Sunday at home.
It will be interesting to see this weekend and down the stretch exactly where the Attack can go.
I’m Fred Wallace
