I’ll be perfectly honest, I didn’t watch much American Football this season.
It just seemed there were too many things going on in these parts and when I did try and watch a game it was Jacksonville or Houston, or Oakland or Cleveland or some other sad sack team.
But that’s all behind us now as the NFL Playoffs begin this weekend.
On Saturday, Kansas City is @ Indianapolis in the AFC while the NFC matchup Saturday has New Orleans at Philadelphia.
One day later, and you’ve got to admire the NFL schedulers who work the balance here, the AFC matchup is Cincinnati hosting San Diego while San Francisco is at Green Bay in the NFC.
The winners of the 4 games this weekend will advance to their respective Conference semifinals with Seattle & Carolina waiting in the NFC and New England & Denver cued up in the AFC.
Having watched precious little action all season makes me no less qualified than the ” experts ” to make my selections, in fact that may be the overwhelming appeal of the NFL.
So I say Indy, New Orleans, Cincinnati & Green Bay advance this weekend, Seattle wins the NFC and will face the AFC Champion Denver Broncos for the Super Bowl on February 2nd.
I’ll be sure to watch the Super Bowl with interest this year, unless I’m in Wiarton for Ground Hog Day.
Enjoy the post season.
I’m Fred Wallace
