Merry Christmas.
Whatever you’re doing today in preparation, or tomorrow on the BIG day, or for Boxing Day and beyond, all the best.
This Christmas, similar to last, similar to Christmas 2007, similar to Christmas 1998 and Christmas 1992 & 93, the holiday season offers heightened interest for Attack fans with Canada at Sweden for the World Junior Hockey Championships.
Like Jamie Storr in the 90’s, Adam Mair at Winnipeg, the departed Wayne Simmonds in 2007 and Jordan Binnington last year, Owen Sound has a player on the Canadian roster at the World Junior Championship Tournament in Chris Bigras.
Good for Chris, who has been a steady and totally dependable player here for 2 & 1/2 years with seldom a ripple.
If the Attack were together in a group, the last player you’d notice would be Chris Bigras- there’s not much flash to his existence. Not in the way he dresses. Certainly not in the way he acts.
And from an interview standpoint, while he’s always been accessible and polite, you really have to lean in to catch exactly what he’s saying.
Regardless, the Attack fan base are exceptionally proud of Chris and happy for him and his family who will be in the centre of a major hockey event, while the rest of us get to enjoy the dramas a little more as it unfolds in Malmo.
I’m Fred Wallace
