The Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op is holding all-day workshops for high school students across Grey and Bruce Counties.
On Thursday and Friday, the Chesley Arena will host 12 artists demonstrating their trades to about 140 Grade 11 and 12 students.
Store Manager Morag Budgeon says this event is possible due to a donation from an Ontario Trillium Grant.
She says this is a great opportunity for students to learn everything from stained glass to graffiti from professional artists.
Budgeon says it is important youth get exposed to mediums of art used by local artists which are not taught in schools.
The registration for this event is closed, but the Artists’ Co-op will hold more workshops like this one next year starting in the spring.
She notes students don’t need to be in art to participate; they just need to have an interest in it.
