The Owen Sound Hyundai Minor Midget Attack won the Regional Qualifying Silver Stick Tournament hosted by Owen Sound Minor Hockey this past weekend
They finished first in their pool and went on to win the tournament and advance to the next level in January 2014 in Newmarket.
Netminder Ethan Woods was selected as the MVP.

Midget Girls
Owen Sound Midget A Ice Hawks sponsored by Playtex Sports participated in the Detroit Bauer World Hockey Invitational Tournament this past weekend.
The whole team contributed to a very strong performance in all four games. The defensive work of Brie Becker, Delaney Dupon, Allison Lemon, Emma MacMillan, Madison Ames and Erica Vokes helped to keep the team competitive in every game. It was a real team effort with all forwards contributing in the scoring.
Game 1 vs Saugeen Maitland, Friday morning. After a hard fought battle Owen Sound fell to a 3-1 Loss. Saugeen took the win by scoring one goal in each period with the Ice Hawks getting a single goal by Kelli Bradley (assisted by Amy Hepburn) in the second. A strong performance by Haileigh Duplantis kept Owen Sound in the game.
Game 2 vs Etobicoke Dolphins, Friday night. It was a close finish with Owen Sound taking the 4-3 win. Owen Sound came out strong in the first period netting 3 goals Morgan Potter (assisted by Madison Ames), Kelli Bradley (assisted by Amy Hepburn), Morgan Potter (assisted by Callan Yost and Kelli Bradley). Etobicoke replied with one in the first. Owen Sound added the winning goal in the second Amy Hepburn (assisted by Callan Yost and Kelli Bradley). Etobicoke kept the pressure on adding two goals in the third but could not get the tying goal past Owen Sound goaltender Jessica McGregor.
Game 3 vs Durham West, Saturday afternoon. The Ice Hawks came out on the wrong side with a 4-1 loss. Jonah VanLoon (assisted by Karlee Sweiger and Amy Hepburn) got the only goal for the Ice Hawks.
Game 4 vs Grand Rapids, Saturday night. The Ice Hawks had a consistent effort to take a 6-0 win giving Jessica McGregor the shut out. The scoring was evened out with two goals in each period. First period goals by Morgan Potter (assisted by Karlee Sweiger and Erica Vokes) and Amy Hepburn (assisted by Kelli Bradley and Jamie VanLoon). Second period had an unassisted goal by Jonah VanLoon and one by Kelli Bradley (assisted by Amy Hepburn and Callan Yost). Jamie VanLoon (assisted by Amy Hepburn and Kelli Bradley) and Morgan Potter (assisted by Callan Yost) scored in the third.

Bruce Peninsula: 2 Township of Chatsworth “Country Charm Mennonite Furniture” Rebels 1
The scoring started early with Bruce Peninsula sneaking a quick goal in the side of the net and came on strong throughout the first period.
Ceaira Hiemstra had another outstanding game in net as she fought off the Bruce Peninsula girls making some amazing saves.
Sammy DeJong scored early in the 3rd period to tie us up 1-1, with assists from Astelle Wardell and Lillian Harshman.
With 2 minutes left in the 3rd period, Bruce Peninsula hammered one in to make it 2-1.
Peewee
The Township of Chatsworth “Harold Sutherland Construction” Rebels lost to Wingham Saturday in Keady 5 to 2.
The Rebels first goal was scored by Josh Currie on an assist from Hunter Schultz and Riley Cook.
The second goal was scored by Wyatt Golem unassisted.
The Township of Chatsworth Xtreme Heating Rebels ended up defeated by South Bruce LL Saturday afternoon in Keady with a game score of 7-4.
South Bruce scored three goals in the first period.
The Rebels came back strong in the second period making the game so far a tie at 3-3.
Jack Scott scored the first goal unassisted.
The other two goals to tie up the game were scored by Darren Graham (assisted by Carson Torrie) and Clayton Kreuger (assisted by Grant Stephen and Jake Hartman).
South Bruce took the lead with 1:37 left in the period scoring another goal.
Chatsworth tied the game again with an unassisted goal from Carson Torrie.
South Bruce was able to win the game 7-4 over the remainder of the third period.
