The Owen Sound Quantum Properties Senior NorthStars Lacrosse club staged their annual meeting on Monday night.
While disappointed to a certain extent with the turnout, returning club president Randy Jackson related that there is an executive structure in place and the 2014 lacrosse season looks a little more viable than it did a month & a half a go.
In early September, staring at a 5 digit debt, Jackson wondered aloud about the viability of proceeding with the operation, potentially incurring a greater debt.
Over the course of September-October through a couple of fundraisers, the NorthStars have been able to slash their debt by more than 1/3 and now begin the process of moving forward.
To operate a Senior Lacrosse club in Owen Sound requires an estimated budget between $ 50,000 & $ 60,000.
The majority of the NorthStar expenses are confined to the cost of floor time and transportation, neither of which can be avoided, both of which must be managed to remain upright as an organization.
There are many duties and functions for President Jackson and the Quantum Properties NorthStars to navigate going forward, but the impression is they are moving forward with greater confidence than they might have been one month ago.
