Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
The week has been spent chasing down and coordinating a bunch of schedules.
Primarily at the high school level, where the Bluewater Athletic Association is poised to have a far more stable year than last year when the flow of sports was cut at the 1/3 mark due to political issues.
The Bluewater Golf Championship is the first major event on the docket.
Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin is hosting the championship on Thursday and will also host the CWOSSA Championship early next month.
The Bluewater Football season also begins Thursday with the St Marys Mustangs Juniors in a simulated match against the John Diefenbaker Trojans who are running a Junior program.
An interview with Football Convenor Dave Alexander is posted on our web page at www.bayshorebroadcasting.ca
There are a number of CWOSSA Championships on the calendar, most interesting to me is next Spring when Walkerton is hosting the soccer finals, but the event will be staged at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex in Owen Sound.
Other notes; the Attack season opens tonight
And in spite of the UFC hype machine, do you really think Alexander Gustafsson has a chance tomorrow against Jon Jones in the light heavyweight championship at the Air Canada Centre ?
I don’t
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
