Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by 49th Marketing.com
” Do you have a Google pin number ? And why would you need one ? Call 519-379-4004 to find out !
It’s fair to say that what I know about horse racing, you could write on the head of a pin.
However, I do understand emotion and there was plenty of that on display Saturday night in the ” Balanced Image ” Final @ Hanover Raceway.
Prior to the main event, Doug Nash, associated with Balanced Image from illustrious beginning to the very end, in a 3 question interview recalled the greatness of the trotter.
His voice didn’t exactly crack, but it wavered. There were no tears, but his eyes were moist as he spoke about the horse and the legacy that continues to live at Hanover through this yearly event.
Before finishing the interview, Nash proclaimed he had a feeling that the # 1 horse, ” Rival Seelster ” would win the 2013 title.
Sure enough, Lorne House navigated 3 breakers in early traffic & ” Rival Seelster ” bolted to lead, and truthfully, was barely challenged for the remainder of the race.
In the Winner’s Circle, you could hear House’s wife, Natasha, the owner of ” Rival Seelster “, bolted from the paddocks, across the infield, filled with tears that her discovery had claimed its share of the $ 66,000 purse, coming in as an 11-1 longshot.
There’s two more weekly cards left at Hanover Raceway, but I hardly expect either to be as emotional as the 2013 ” Balanced Image ” Final last weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
