The Knights of Meaford Tier II Junior A Hockey Club officially kicked off their inaugural training camp today that runs until September 5 at the World Hockey Training Centre near Shelburne.
A total of 21 players are signed to play for the expansion 2013-2014 season including three Europeans and three local talents.
The two-week camp will feature dry land training, on-ice drills in Bradford and in-class instruction.
In other Knights news, the coaching staff has also been finalized. AJ Shortt and Shawn Adams will join head bench boss Nathan Parrish as an all Meaford connection.
Both of these assistants bring a wealth of experience of not only coaching but also winning championships.
Darren Clock also of Meaford has come on board as the teams Head Trainer.
The Knights of Meaford begin the 42 game campaign in the GMHL on Sunday afternoon September 8th versus the Halton Ravens in Burlington at 2:30 PM.
The much-anticipated home opener is Thursday October 17th against the Lefroy Wave with puck drop shortly after 8 PM following opening ceremonies.
