The calendar turns to August and the long weekend is virtually upon us.
Among the many highlights in the days ahead will be the 12th annual ” Dream of Glory ” Final at Hanover Raceway.
The eliminations to determine the 8 horse field for the final were held last Saturday with 20 horses trying to race their way into the final which is worth close to $ 72,000.
Travis Henry went wire to wire to win the first elimination with ” Enough About You “, who did the mile in 1:59 & 1, the fastest elimination race on the night.
The second elimination was won by ” El Diablo Rojo ” for Bruce Richardson. Hitting the line first for the first time this year, ” El Diablo Rojo ” came across in 2 minutes flat.
And then the rains came…..sloshing up the track conditions and slowing the time to 2:02 & 1 for ” Her Name Is Lola ” driven on the night by Matt Bax.
The victory by ” Her Name Is Lola ” meant the Bax family, no strangers to the ” Dream of Glory ” Final, had to make a decision as they had 2 horses qualify for the final.
This Saturday night is Hanover Raceway’s biggest night, with a special start time of 6:30, a barbeque, carriage rides, an amazing match race, miniature horses and more.
But the highlight remains, the 12th annual ” Dream of Glory ” Final
