It’s another lacrosse night in Owen Sound.
Tonight, the Garb & Gear NorthStars host the Elora Mohawks in a divisional matchup in Junior B lacrosse.
The Owen Sound bookies have established the NorthStars as significant underdogs for this one.
Elora is a distinct 3 team battle with Orangeville & Brampton for first place in the MidWest Division.
The NorthStars have lost all 5 games this season, including 3 divisional matchups, which makes a playoff berth almost impossible, even this early in the season.
But that’s the beauty of the challenge facing the Owen Sound club this year and it will be interesting to see the route they take.
Put simply, Owen Sound has to play an almost perfect game to obtain points this year.
They can’t turn it over, they can’t miss any good scoring opportunity and they can’t take foolish or selfish penalties.
In lacrosse, that’s a tall order, but if this group of NorthStars is to make progress, that’s exactly what they have to attempt
Game time tonight is 8 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre
Looking ahead, the Quantum Properties NorthStars are at home in Senior Lacrosse, Saturday night against Norwood.
The Senior Stars started the year with 3 straight road games, met undefeated defending champion St Catharines last weekend and will go against another undefeated entry; Norwood on Saturday
Norwood looks to move to 6 & 0 tonight when they face Brooklin.
