There was a significant sequence of announcements yesterday at The Walker House in Southampton.
The 25h anniversary of the Rotary Huron Shores Run will be staged on Saturday June 1st and as part of the milestone year, a number of alterations and expansions to the event were introduced.
Most significantly, there will be a Half Marathon as part of the 2013 Huron Shore Run.
This addition is actually a return to the roots of the run which originated as a half marathon.
Other alterations and additions for 2013 include partnering with Saugeen Shores for a Health & Wellness Fair based out of the Southampton Coliseum on run day plus another partnership with ” Play With Bruce-Grey ” designed to encourage the participation of youngsters in the day.
The run through the years has served a variety of purposes, most significantly as a terrific fundraiser for the health foundation which over the course of time has generated almost $ 300,000.
