One good thing about lousy weekend weather is you don’t feel guilty about being indoors, essentially doing nothing.
I watched a lot of hockey Friday through Sunday, with my attention wavering from the Leafs to the OHL Final and back again.
It’s interesting that thousands of people jamming Maple Leaf Square have little to no interest in the OHL and yet it appears both the Molson Centre in Barrie & the Budweiser Gardens in London were packed for the games.
I did watch some other stuff; in particular, Sergio Garcia exploding in the late going hitting every drop off water on the 17th & 18th at the The Players Championship.
And in fairness, I did get out to some events; Ladies Night at Hanover Raceway Saturday and the home opener for the Garb & Gear NorthStars in Junior B lacrosse.
Prior to the Junior B game, the NorthStars celebrating 40 years of junior lacrosse in the city, retired two jerseys; # 8 for Dave Cruikshank & # 12 for Randy ” Rooster ” McMillen.
Both Cruikshank & McMillen had massive years in Junior Lacrosse; Cruikshank almost scored 600 goals while McMillen once scored 105 goals in a season.
Let’s see what this week bring weatherwise & otherwise.
I’m Fred Wallace
