After a blustery week of winter weather, you’ve got to believe those who who ski or snowmobile are overjoyed with the conditions heading into the weekend.
That’s certainly the case at Duntroon Highlands where the Highlands Trailblazers are hosting the the Haywood Noram Nordic Skiing event Saturday and Sunday.
Qualifying begins tomorrow morning at 9:30 am in the 8 divisions that in some cases are expected to feature former Olympians.
On Sunday morning, they’ll do it all again with the Interval starts commencing again at 9:30 a.m. and running into the afternoon.
Also on the go this weekend, the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be decided at the KW Granite Club, with the winner advancing to the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship which will be hosted in Kingston at the K-Rock Centre.
The Ontario Men’s Tankard is being staged at the Molson Centre in Barrie, but it doesn’t open until Monday February 4th.
The Attack who have won 5 in a row in the Ontario Hockey League. have a home and home this weekend with the Guelph Storm who also have won 5 in a row.
The opener goes tonight at the Sleeman Centre with the rematch set for tomorrow night at what’s expected to be a jam packed JD McArthur Arena.
