The opening day roster for the NHL’s Boston Bruins has a familiar name on it.
Sauble Beach native Lane MacDermid will open the season with the NHL club.
The 23 year old MacDermid has 5 points with 73 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Bruins AHL farm team in Providence.
The 6 foot 3, 205 pound forward will be in the Bruins lineup when they host the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
MacDermid played two and half seasons with the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack.
His father Paul MacDermid — a former NHL player — is one of the five owners of the Attack and his brother Lane currently patrols the blueline with the OHL team.
