It’s the weekend, so you know we’ve got hockey at every level tonight and through the weekend.
The Attack are at Guelph tonight and home to Belleville tomorrow night…….Malcolm Subban vs Jordan Binnington……. ?
There are Junior C games tonight at Kincardine & Mount Forest, plus we’ve got Senior games at the Plex in Port Elgin, at the Shallow Lake Community Centre and at Ripley
It’s also a significant racing weekend.
Owen Sound skier Larisa Yurkiw is in Switzerland, racing all weekend at St Maritz in every discipline
Today, she competed in the Ladies’ super combined turning in a time of 1 minute 21.91 seconds, just under 3 seconds back of the leader.
Tomorrow she will compete in the Ladies’ super-G and then Sunday, for the first time ever in her career, she’ll race in the Ladies’ Giant Slalom.
Earlier this week, Yurkiw indicated competing in the new discipline was an essential part of her growing experience within the sport.
She’s been good enough to get to the World stage, strong enough to recover from injury and focused enough, just last week, to bury disappointing results and then follow with a solid performance, so trying a new discipline is another step in Larisa Yurkiw’s development as a World Cupper.
Speaking of racing, I wanted to talk about Andrew Gresel and the ARCA series, but the weekend is here and I gotta race outta here.
I’m Fred Wallace
