Christmas has come early to three families thanks to Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce.
These families received the keys to their new Habitat homes on Friday.
The recipients are Kenneth Bordeaux and Jasmine Hamarakis and their children Kayle-Anne and Bailey; Bryan Fullard and Sara Woods and their children Dylan and Lexie and Steve Quesnel and Brianne Lillie and their children Alex, Justice and Eddie.
Steve Quesnel says his family is eager to make their Habitat house a home, likening the experience to winning the lottery.
He says he is just so grateful to Habitat, the sponsors, the volunteers and everyone who helped make this possible.
Eleven year old Dylan Fullard is also excited saying this will be the best home his family has ever lived in.
He and his little sister Lexie are eager to put the Christmas tree up in their new home.
There are now three families in the four new Hanover Habitat homes, Habitat is taking applications for the fourth home which will be ready for home ownership by February.
Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce Board Chair Keith Mombourquette has ambitious plan for his organization.
He says over the last 25 years Habitat has build 25 homes in Grey Bruce, he wants to double this to 50 within the next five years, citing the great need for affordable housing in the region.
